About SCAR
The South County Animal Rescue (SCAR) was founded in January 2016. To date, SCAR has rescued over 700 animals that would have been given away, surrendered or abandoned in rural South County. We also help our shelter partners by taking in shelter animals when a foster is available. SCAR is proud to serve our South County community, and save the lives of innocent animals.
We are a volunteer-run organization of animal lovers, operating off of a foster based system.

Our Mission
South County Animal Rescue was established to provide rescue and assistance for domestic animals. Our goal is to significantly reduce the homeless population of domestic animals in South County through safe rescue and adoption services, awareness and education. We strive to establish relationships with other rescue agencies and collaborate to save more lives.
