About SCAR
The South County Animal Rescue (SCAR) was founded in January 2016. To date, SCAR has rescued over 1,600 animals that would have been given away, surrendered or abandoned in rural South Monterey County. We also help our shelter partners by taking in shelter animals when a foster is available. SCAR is proud to serve our South County community, and save the lives of innocent animals.
We are a volunteer-run organization of animal lovers, operating off of a foster based system.

Our Mission
