SCAR is a volunteer-operated animal rescue, and rescue would not be possible without these amazing people we like to call, Animal Champions. We always welcome new animal-loving volunteers who embody our core values of being positive, welcoming, responsive, and supportive. Our volunteer openings are for event, remote and behind-the-scenes roles.
Volunteer Driver
Volunteer drivers use their own cars to help transport cats, dogs, and supplies to events, foster homes, and various locations across Monterey County.

Adoption Event Volunteer
As an Adoption Event Volunteer, you'll share our lifesaving mission and help find the perfect forever homes for our dogs and cats.

Pet Socializer
Spend some quality time with our adoptable rescue pets by taking them out for the day. Enjoy a long walk with a dog or let them play at a dog park. This gives their foster parents a much-needed break and allows the pet to socialize with new people and other animals.
Marketing
Support various fundraising initiatives, handle copywriting, create content, run social media ads, manage email marketing campaigns, and oversee public relations.

Photography, Design & Video
Join us in boosting our lifesaving mission. Graphic Designers and Videographers create materials that share our rescue stories and showcase adoptable pets.
